Nagpur, December 26, 2025: In a move to accelerate India’s Web3 talent pipeline, Shardeum has signed an MoU with Government College of Engineering (GCOEN) to institutionalize blockchain education and hands-on builder training in Maharashtra. The collaboration will promote Web3 and blockchain education, skills, and builder activity to students at these colleges through a year-long hybrid learning program.
This aligns with Maharashtra’s growing momentum toward emerging technologies and blockchain innovation. By connecting students directly with industry expertise, the initiative aims to build a strong, future-ready talent pool capable of shaping India’s decentralized digital landscape.
Through the MoU, students will gain access to technical workshops, wallet onboarding, guided development sessions, ideation sprints, and mentorship from Shardeum’s ecosystem experts. The collaboration will also support Web3 clubs, hackathons, co-branded community events, and opportunities for internships and real-world project contributions. Both online and offline engagements will be planned to ensure greater accessibility and participation across student groups.
“India’s next wave of Web3 innovation will be driven by young builders who understand how decentralized technologies can solve real-world challenges. Our collaboration with GCOEN will empower students with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to build meaningful applications on Shardeum. By helping more students experiment on-chain, we can accelerate India’s on-chain adoption, a key step toward building an open, resilient, and innovation-led digital economy. As more learners, developers, and institutions participate in this movement, we move closer to creating a strong national ecosystem where homegrown ideas can scale globally and contribute to India’s leadership in the decentralized internet,” said Nischal Shetty, Co-Founder of Shardeum.
Under Shardeum’s Proof of Community Program, the India OnChain Tour has grown into a worldwide education movement, hosting 500+ workshops globally and 305+ events across India. With meetups in 210 cities and 100+ colleges, the initiative has reached more than 31,000 students and working professionals.
Shardeum also plans to sign MoUs with leading institutions in the region to strengthen academic collaboration and innovation-led initiatives. This nationwide movement is designed to help people across India take their first on-chain steps and understand Web3 in a simple and accessible way. Through workshops, meetups, and mini-ideathons across campuses and cities, the tour brings students, developers, and creators together to learn, experiment with on-chain actions, build projects, and join the growing Shardeum community.
