Prime Minister Narendra Modi meet the parliamentarians during the special event held at the Central Hall of the Old Parliament Building.
Modi shared a brief moment with Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha during a special event at the Central Hall.
MPs including Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he entered the Central Hall of the Old Parliament building.
With the Parliament shifting from the old building to the new building on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the old building would we known as 'Samvidhan Sadan'.
PM Modi said "Samvidhan Sadan" would be a tribute to all the leaders who served the nation and performed their duties as members. "We should not let go of the opportunity to give this present to the future generations," he added.
PM Modi addressed the gathering in Parliament's Central Hall during an event preceding the relocation to the new building.
The move occurred on the second day of the five-day special Parliament session, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi.
The move to the new Parliament building will also entail a uniform change for Parliament staff in both Houses.This encompasses chamber attendants, officers, security personnel, drivers, and marshals, all of whom will sport new uniforms during the special session.
