Evonith Steel organizes its inaugural ‘Run for Environment’ to spread awareness on shared responsibility towards a greener future

Nagpur, January 2026: Evonith Steel, a leading steelmaker in India, organized ‘The 10K Run for Environment 2026’ today at Ambedkar Chowk in Wardha, Maharashtra to champion the cause of a greener future and improved public health. To garner greater participation, the Marathon was conducted over two distinct distances (10 km and 5 km) and routes spanning across the city of Wardha for three separate age categories. More than 4,500 participants above the age of 16 years participated in the Marathon and contributed to the cause of spreading awareness on how one can reduce their personal environmental footprint through small everyday commitments. 

Dr Pankaj Bhoyar, Guardian Minister of Wardha and Bhandara districts, was the Chief Guest of the event and he flagged off the Marathon. All participants and key management personnel from Evonith Steel demonstrated their commitment by taking the pledge for a greener future at the Selfie Booths and sharing it on their social media handles to amplify the cause. Cash prizes and medals were awarded for both 10 km and 5 km runs across the three age categories, and all registered participants received a Certificate of Merit for participation. 

Wardha is home to Evonith Steel’s iron-making and finished steel products manufacturing facility.
