SMHHCRC Sets Sights on National Prominence within Five Years

Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (DMIHER–DU) Off Campus continues to flourish in Wanadongri with its diverse academic institutions and teaching hospitals. Among its leading units, the Shalinitai Meghe Homeopathy Hospital College & Research Centre (SMHHCRC) is evolving with a distinct academic and clinical identity.

To craft a focused roadmap for SMHHCRC, DMIHER (DU) recently constituted an Advisory Board of nationally renowned homeopaths. The inaugural meeting of this Board marked a decisive step toward academic excellence and institutional advancement.

The meeting was chaired by Padma Shri Dr. Vilas Dangre, celebrated homeopath from Nagpur, and attended virtually by Dr. B.R. Dubb, Registrar, J&K Board of Homeopathic System of Medicine and Nodal Officer, Government Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Kathua (J&K), and Dr. D.S. Singh, Professor, State Lal Bahadur Shastri Homeopathic Medical College, Prayagraj.

Key DMIHER (DU) officials present included Dr. Anup Marar, Director (Off Campus), Dr. Manish Deshmukh, Deputy Director (R&D), and Dr. Prashant Bharbat, Principal, SMHHCRC.

The event opened with a warm welcome and a felicitation of Padma Shri Dr. Dangre for his national honor. Under the mentorship of Prof. Manish P. Deshmukh, Principal Dr. Prashant Bharbat presented a forward-looking roadmap focusing on strengthening academic frameworks, introducing innovative teaching methodologies, enhancing clinical excellence, driving research-based growth and ensuring holistic student development.

The Advisory Board praised the plan’s clarity and vision, offering valuable suggestions for sustainable, long-term growth. Members collectively expressed confidence that SMHHCRC could achieve national prominence within five years, attracting students from across India and abroad.

In his address, Padma Shri Dr. Vilas Dangre emphasized the importance of “promoting pure Homeopathy OPD and indoor practice.” He advised, “Integrated research is fine, but SMHHCRC should promote pure Homeopathy. Homeopaths must take pride in their pathy and desist from seeking permission to practice other pathies.”

Dr. Dangre lauded the interactive session and commended the visionary leadership of Shri Dattaji Meghe, Founder Chancellor, for fostering an institution dedicated to advancing homeopathy.

The meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation of SMHHCRC faculty, including Dr. Vinod Khawase, Dr. Trupti Hiwase, Dr. Sonam Yadav, Dr. Bhavana Gadpayle, Dr. Nilima Pohane, Dr. Nayan Durable, Dr. Namrata Khajanchi, Dr. Shruti Ahirkar, Dr. Priyanka Shende, Dr. Aksha Sabu, and Dr. Amruta Kshirsagar. Proceedings were ably coordinated by Mr. Akshay Dod , Ms. Ruchika, Dr.Sajan Nair , Mr.Vinod Gajbhiye and Mr. Krishna Deotale.

Closing the session, Dr. Anup Marar highlighted that the esteemed Advisory Board’s guidance will be instrumental in realizing the institution’s mission of academic and clinical excellence, aligning with the broader vision of DMIHER (DU).
