October 01,2024Vidya Balan, currently living in a rented house in Mumbai, recently shared her thoughts on purchasing her dream home. At the 22nd Credal Natcon event in Sydney, she spoke to an audience of over 1,100 real estate developers, emphasising that buying a dream home is all about “Kismet Connection.” During the event, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa actress also explained why she chooses to stay in a rented house, despite her reservations about it.
At the event, Vidya Balan claimed that finding the perfect home is a matter of destiny. "You walk into a house and you know it’s yours," she said. Recalling her house-hunting experience with her mother about 15 years ago, she shared that she was seeking a place closer to her work in Bandra or Juhu to avoid the long commute to Chembur.
During the search, the actress discovered her perfect home, but it was beyond their budget. Nevertheless, she recalled how her mother encouraged her to focus on managing the EMI, which ultimately led to the purchase. "When I walked into the house, it felt like my home," she shared, expressing that the purchase seemed destined to happen.
The actress was once again on a house hunt when she married film producer Siddharth Roy Kapur. She shared, "We looked at around 25 houses but couldn’t agree on any." Eventually, they discovered a house they both liked, but it was a rental—something she wasn’t comfortable with. "I always said, 'I don’t want to stay in a rented house.'"
After struggling to find their perfect home, they revisited the same property and ultimately decided to rent it. Explaining her reason behind the same, the Kismet Konnection actress noted that it was rare to find a garden and a sea view in such a densely populated city. She joked that the arrangement has worked out well for the couple, as their landlord is happy "earning a fat cheque" from the deal.
According to housing.com, Vidya Balan's home is characterised by its wooden furnishings, an impressive art collection, and a sanctuary-like ambiance. Her spacious living room features wooden and glossy panels lining the floor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Known for her love of locally crafted pieces, her home resembles a mini-gallery, showcasing her wonderful book collection, charming potted plants, and a vibrant Ganpati statue.
The dining area is adorned with a six-seater table complemented by intricately carved wooden chairs. A charming green light fixture hangs above the table, perfectly enhancing the vibrant paintings that surround it. On the work front, the actress, who was last seen in the film Do Aur Do Pyaar, is all set to make her big screen comeback with Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
