Kahaaniyan Khatam...: Dropped From India Squad For England Test Series, 57-Test Veteran Posts CRYPTIC Message

February 12,2024

India have announced their squad for the final three Test matches vs England, just five days before the third Test match at Rajkot beginning on February 15. One of the strongest parts of the India squad is the blistering pace attack consisting of the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar and debutant Akash Deep. However, with these three pacers in the lineup, a lot of names have missed out being part of the squad. One of the names is veteran pacer Umesh Yadav, who has played for India in 57 Tests. He has now shared his thoughts after being ignored for the final three Test matches.

In a cryptic post on his Instagram story, Umesh Yadav wrote that stories never get over even if a book sits of the shelf and collects dust. He was obviously referring to his long absence from the Indian Test team.

"Kitaabon par dhool jamne se, kahaaniyan khatm nahi hoti (Stories don't get over with dust accumulating on books,"Umesh wrote.

Check it out right here:

Umesh Yadav has played 57 Test matches for India and picked up 170 wickets. He last featured for India in the longest format of the game in the ICC World Test Championship final 2023 against Australia at the Kennington Oval in June last year. He has not been selected in the team since then.

Coming back to the squad for the last three Test matches against England, the team have dropped Shreyas Iyer from the squad. On the other hand, Avesh Khan and Sourabh Kumar have also been dropped from the side. KL Rahul and Ravndra Jadeja return to the side from their injuries, while Akash Deep has earned a maiden call-up. Virat Kohli too misses out from the Test matches due to personal reasons.
