Rs 3500 crore! PSU BHEL's order book gets richer with a BIG and HEAVY order from Gautam Adani's company

BHEL-Adani Power Order: State-owned heavy electrical equipment company BHEL’s order book has gotten richer as it bagged a multi crore order from billionaire Gautam Adani’s company. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on Wednesday said it has received a project order from Adani Power.

The PSU announced that it has bagged an order from Adani Group's power company for setting up the 2x800 MW TPP at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Adani Power has given the order to the PSU for the manufacture of boiler and turbine generator at BHEL’s Trichy and Haridwar plants, respectively. The order is for the supply of above mentioned equipments and associated auxiliaries along with control and instrumentation.

Further, it also entails supervision of erection and commissioning, BHEL said in an exchange filing.

The time period by which the contract is to be executed is 35 months for the supply of unit-1 and 41 months for the unit-2. BHEL noted that the cost of the order is greater than Rs 3500 crore excluding GST.

With this big order from the Adani Group company, PSU BHEL’s order book has gotten further richer which stood at Rs 1,08,618 crore as of December 31, 2023. This was 19 per cent higher than the comparable level of December 31, 2023. According to an investor presentation filed by the company in February, BHEL saw cumulative order inflows of Rs 36,048 crore in the April-December period of FY24 (9MFY24). This was 137 per cent higher than the comparable Rs 15,232 crore in 9MFY23.
