Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' BEATS Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' at the box office on Day 10

In an interesting turn of events, the sports drama 'Maidaan' starring Ajay Devgn in the lead, has taken the lead over Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's action-drama 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. On its 10th day at the box office, the film that has been lagging behind, finally took the lead, earning an estimated Rs 2.35 crore, over Rs 60 lakh more than the Akshay starrer that raked in an estimated Rs 1.75 crore.

According to sacnilk.com, Maidaan recorded an estimated 20.31% occupation at theatres on its second Saturday, BMCM recorded just around 11.57% occupancy.

The films that were released over the extended Eid weekend, could fared lower than expected, considering that both movies were big-budget movies. While the Ajay starrer had a budget of an estimated Rs 100 crore, Akki's film had a bigger budget of Rs 350 crore.

While Maidaan managed to gain in lead on Saturday, it is still lagging behind as far as overall box office numbers are concerned.

BMCM currently has a total collection of an estimated Rs 53.12 crore with gross figures hitting the Rs 61.05 crore mark. On the international front, the film managed to earn an estimated Rs 27.2 crore, thus taking its overall total to an estimated Rs 88.25 crore.

Maidaan, on the other hand, has earned a total collection of Rs 32.15 crore, with a gross collection of Rs 35.5 crore. The film earned Rs 6.75 crore in the international markets, taking its global total to an estimated Rs 42.25 crore.

Both films are reported among the lowest-earning Eid releases over the years.
