The late superstar Dev Anand's bungalow in Juhu, Mumbai, has recently changed hands for an estimated sum of Rs 350-400 crore, as reported by Hindustan Times. Dev Anand, along with his wife Kalpana Kartik and children Suniel Anand and Devina Anand, spent four decades at the property.

According to the report, the bungalow has been acquired by a real estate company which plans to demolish it and erect a 22-storey tower in its place. Dev Anand's children, Suniel and Devina, have made the decision to sell the property, primarily due to the challenges of its maintenance. While Suniel resides in the United States, Devina lives in Ooty with their mother Kalpana. The report also indicates that they have sold some additional properties in Panvel, Maharashtra. The proceeds from the sale will be divided among all three family members of the legendary actor.

In an older interview with Outlook, Dev Anand, who described himself as a loner, had shared his reasons for choosing to build his home in Juhu. At the time, the area was far removed from the city's hustle and bustle. However, he lamented the transformation of Juhu into a bustling prime location, particularly on Sundays, remarking, "It’s not the same beach any longer."

Interestingly, there have been reports of a similar fate awaiting the Pali Hill bungalow of the late actor Dilip Kumar, with plans to replace it with a luxurious 11-floor residential project on the plot.
