BJP sacks its Ex-MP Waghchaure for contesting poll against party line

Mumbai :- The ruling BJP has kicked out its party leader and former Shirdi Lok Sabha member, Bhausaheb Waghchaure from the party. The pilgrimage centre of Shirdi, famed for the Shri Saibaba Temple, will see a contest between Shiv Sena’s Sadashiv Lokhande and the Congress’ Bhausaheb Kamble. Waghchaure was denied a ticket this time as the BJP has given it to its alliance partner, Shiv Sena. Waghchaure had rebelled against the party and filed a nomination as an independent from the constituency.

According to BJP sources, the BJP president Raosaheb Danve issued orders to expel Waghcahure for violating the party’s disciplinary code. Waghcahure is a trustee of Shirdi’s popular Sai Baba Sansthan from the BJP’s quota and party leaders said that since he has been expelled from the party, he may also be sacked from the trust.

With Waghchaure in the fray now, there is a triangular fight in Shirdi and political observers said that Waghchaure’s entry as an independent might help the Congress win the seat.
