Anil Agarwal's Vedanta to raise Rs 3000 cr; good BUY ahead of demerger? 5 brokerages views

Vedanta Share Price Target 2025:Anil Agarwal's Vedanta has announced plans to raise Rs 3,000 crore. The funds will be raised by via issue of unsecured, rated, listed, redeemable, Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis.

According to an exchange filing, Vedanta said that 3 lakh securities, each having a face value of Rs 1,00,000 per NCD, will be issued.

"...considered and approved the issuance of Unsecured, Rated, Listed, Redeemable, Non-Convertible Debentures (“NCDs”) on a private placement basis (up to 3,00,000 nos. of face value Rs 1,00,000/- each) aggregating up to Rs 3,000 crores," Vedanta said.

Vedanta shares have seen sharp selling in the last few session. The metal stock has cracked 8 per cent in the previous trading sessions. On Wednesday (Feb 12), Vedanta shares traded in green at Rs 425 apiece around 1 PM.

Vedanta Demerger, Vedanta Business Split

Vedanta has announced to demerge its businesses into 5 new companies. The 4 new business that will split are: aluminium, oil and gas, power, steel and ferrous materials and base metals. All the new companies will will list on the exchanges after the demerger.

Vedanta Demerger Company Names

The 4 new companies are: Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited; Talwandi Sabo Power Limited; Malco Energy Limited and Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited. It is worth mentioning here that Vedanta Limited itself will be the 5th demerged company.

Vedanta has said that shareholders will get 1 share of each company under the demerger plan.

Vedanta Share Price Target 2025

Meanwhile, 5 brokerages have shares their rating on Vedanta stock. While four brokerages have maintained BUY rating on Vedanta shares, one has maintained Outperform rating.

Nuvama, ICICI Securities, IIFL and Phillip Capital has maintained BUY rating on Vedanta shares for target price of Rs 663, Rs 605, Rs 570 and Rs 549. CLSA has initiated Outperform rating with a target price of Rs 530.
