India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test: Jasprit Bumrah was once again at his very best during the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday.

Bumrah picked up three wickets for 50 runs in the first innings as India bowled Bangladesh out for 233/10 in 74.2 overs on the fourth day.

Picking up the key wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam, Bumrah achieved a special feat in international cricket.

Bumrah became the first bowler in the world to complete 50 international wickets in 2024, reaching the milestone in his 15th match.

He accomplished the feat in just 21 innings at a jaw-dropping average of 13.10. The tally includes 35 Test and 15 T20I wickets.

The star pacer also surpassed James Anderson to become the seventh leading wicket-taker in the World Test Championship (WTC) history.

Bumrah now has 118 wickets to his name in 28 matches he has played across three editions of WTC.

Australia's veteran spinner Nathan Lyon sits at the top of the table with 187 wickets whereas Ravichandran Ashwin stands in the second spot with 182 wickets.

Bumrah has been in remarkable form this year as he played a key role in India's T20 World Cup 2024 title triumph.

He also was on fire during India's all-important five-match Test series against England at home earlier this year.

The 30-year-old recorded a match-winning four-wicket haul in the series opener as well in Chennai.

Talking about the ongoing match, Bangladesh were 107/3 before the play was called off earlier on the first day due to rain.

The weather frustrated on the second and third days, and play was suspended without a ball bowled before action resumed on the fourth day.

India already are 1-0 ahead in the two-match series, having won the first Test in Chennai by 280 runs.
