Over 1 lakh government jobs to be provided in Maharashtra: Devendra Fadnavis

July 02,2024

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday promised over one lakh government job posts to be filled by their government soon.

Fadnavis said that a total of 57,452 applicants have been given appointment letters.

After the new government in Maharashtra was formed under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the recruitment started in August 2022. The recruitment process for 75,000 posts was initiated.

"Recruitment is happening in a transparent manner. Except for Talati exams in Amravati, we are also bringing a new law against paper leaks in competitive exams. This law will be brought in this session (of the state Assembly)", the senior BJP leader said.

A total of 19,853 students will now complete the process and be given the appointment letter soon, he added.

Fadnavis further said that the Mahayuti government, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), has done the work of providing jobs to 77,305 students. Also, the recruitment process for 31,201 posts will be completed in the next three months, he added.

"That means that our government will give jobs to one lakh eight thousand candidates. This is a record. The law will also be enforced to prevent paper leaks. This law will come into force in this session. We are also discussing this law with the student union", said Fadnavis.
