October 26,2020Nagpur: Ravindra Chaudhary, a 50 year old cop, got a new lease of life
at Wockhardt Hospital, Nagpur after allegedly being brutally stabbed by a
criminal few days back. Profusely bleeding, he was rushed to Wockhardt
Hospital’s emergency department after the incident where he was operated and
his life was saved.
Mr. Chaudhary, a head constable in Kanhan Police station, was allegedly
stabbed as many as eleven times on thighs, chest and abdominal area by a
history sheeter whose brother he had arrested in the past and the later was
holding a grudge against him for the same. The assault happened using a knife
which had injured him very badly. After the suggestion of treating doctor- Dr.
Hemant Chhajed, General Surgeon, Wockhardt Hospitals, Nagpur, victim was taken
for an immediate surgery post clinical evaluation by team of doctors.
“After performing
rapid antigen test for COVID and routine investigations, along with transfusing
four units of blood he was operated”, informed Dr. Hemant. “On examination he
was found to have omentum and bowel coming out from abdominal wounds. It was
decided to immediately operate him for exploratory laparotomy which was
necessary to save his life. The surgery was successful and he was discharged
soon after”, he added.
“When I reached the
hospital I was in shock but I was still glad to see that within such short span
of time all the necessary investigations were done”, said Mrs. Chaudhary, wife
of Ravindra Chaudhary. He was in such a
serious condition in which most of the hospitals even decline to treat patients
but Wockhardt hospitals accepted the case and treated him in a very nice way.
Even the entire team of doctors came at such odd hours and explained each and
everything to us with complete detail. Not just that, we were also given huge
moral support by the entire Wockhardt team in such a difficult time. I have no
relatives in town but the way my husband was taken care of in Wockhardt
Hospital, I did not even feel that I needed someone. The most important thing
was that the things were done very promptly and swiftly without wasting any
time and everyone handled the situation with calm and positive approach”, she
added. She also admired the nursing and clinical care they received.
While talking about
the incident, Mr. Chaudhary also thanked the entire team for his successful
recovery. “It’s the best hospital in town without a second thought. I have got
a new lease of life here which I am and will always be thankful for”, he added.
“The policemen work so
hard for our service and even more during this pandemic. It gives us
